Here is a pretty intense video showing a plane landing in stiff crosswinds at Birmingham Airport in England. According to the YouTube winds were 35 knots (~40 mph, 65 kph) perpendicular to the runway. It is amazing to see the amount of deflection in the tires when they hit, and they appear to come out in fine shape. The amount of travel in the landing gear is also very impressive. So much energy getting absorbed by the tires and landing gear. According to the YouTube info the plane weighs 120 tonnes (I'm assuming metric tons, though possibly long tons as it was filmed in the UK) which would put it around 264,000 lbs.
Perhaps F86Sabre or one of our other aircraft experts can weigh in and let us know if they would have to do any special maintenance after a landing like this. I would assume at the least a landing like that would be noted and the tires and landing gear would be inspected for damage and leaks and such.
EDIT: Stumbled across this on the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

There's typically a 'rough landing checklist' or something of that nature. Outlines things to inspect after a hard landing.
To be honest though, I really don't understand why this video is making the news circuits. It wasn't that bad. Hard landing yes, but I've seen worse.

It is a pretty dramatic video. Especially when you can see the tire "shake" and the landing gear compression when it lands.

Dramatic video, sure, but it's not that bad.
I guess in my mind it's just the reality of flying. Hard landings happen. Flying is hard. Airplanes weigh more than most people realize.
Plus I think a lot of what makes this dramatic is the perspective, it's a bit of an optical illusion.
This one is quite a bit worse:
